Which package is the better fit?
The four-tours-in-three-days package concentrates on the headline landscapes: El Tatio, Piedras Rojas and the highland lagoons, Moon Valley and Baltinache. The six-tours-in-four-days package adds Rainbow Valley and Cejar. Choose the longer bundle for breadth, or the shorter one if you want to leave room to book other experiences yourself.
Neither selected package lists stargazing as one of its included excursions. If astronomy is a priority, add a separately booked stargazing session and check that it does not precede an exceptionally early pickup.

What “three days” actually means
The shorter product is an excursion bundle departing from San Pedro. It is not a three-day holiday starting at your plane’s arrival. You need enough usable time in town to attend the departures, and the provider contacts you to coordinate the order. Check the schedule before choosing flight times.
A three-night stay with late arrival and early departure can contain only two full touring days. Our how-many-days guide separates nights from usable sightseeing time. If your travel dates are tight, separate bookings may fit more reliably than a preset bundle.
Admission can change the comparison
For the three-day product, the current listing includes Chaxa, the Altiplanic Lagoons and Piedras Rojas entry for bookings made from the stated October 2025 cutoff. Moon Valley, El Tatio and Baltinache admission remain additional, and some payments must be arranged in advance.
The four-day product lists several reserve charges as exclusions. Ask for one current written breakdown, including El Tatio, rather than adding outdated online fee estimates yourself. Accommodation and airport transfers are separate from both selected excursion bundles.
The current Baltinache limitation applies to packages too
A package does not bypass a park restriction. The selected Baltinache day-trip operator reports that floating has been suspended since 29 September 2026. Before buying a bundle, ask what its Baltinache component now includes and whether there is a substitute or revised fee.
Our Baltinache guide gives the current notice. A package photo showing a swimmer is not sufficient evidence that bathing is available on your dates.
Ask for the order before committing
Save the highest excursions for later in your stay where feasible, and tell the supplier when you arrive from low altitude. The four-day listing already places Piedras Rojas and El Tatio on its later days; confirm whether that sequence is maintained. A booking schedule is not a medical assessment of acclimatisation.
Check age limits across every component. The three-day product has a generic under-7 restriction but separately says El Tatio prohibits under-9s. Use the stricter component limit until the operator resolves it. Read our altitude guide before taking a highland package.
When separate bookings are better
Choose separate tours if you want only one high-altitude excursion, need a day off, have specific language or access requirements, or want to respond to the sky forecast. The three-day itinerary and four-day itinerary are planning suggestions, not bookable packages. Their individual tour reservations have separate cancellation terms.
For a cross-border journey, use the Uyuni guide instead. Sleeping in Bolivia’s remote highlands is a substantially different commitment from day trips returning to San Pedro.
